Thanksgiving 2013

Now that I have had my turkey sandwich on white bread, spread with lots of mayo, Thanksgiving is officially over. Let the Christmas Parade begin!  Well, right after the big diet parade kicks off. Wow, did we ever eat well this past weekend. All the weight that I have been losing has been found. No wonder January is the  month to join the gym. After Thanksgiving and Christmas, I may have to join one too.

So, we had a wonderful Thanksgiving with 27 people sitting at tables in my living-room/kitchen.  It is nice to have such a large area.  We fried three turkeys and smoked one. We sent one full turkey home with my brother, but ate most of the other turkeys.  Actually, we had plenty left over for sandwiches all weekend - perfecto!

We took a few family photos. Mom wanted one with all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. There were better ones than this one, but this one was the most fun. It could be a contender for "awkward family photos" blog.

Then we did a reenactment photo. The first one was taken 17 years ago of Mom's grandchildren. Since then, Eric was born, so we added him in - photo bomb :) It was a beautiful day. For some reason, we did not have the usual football game. What's up with that?

I have to get back to counting my calories, too. I have been lazy and rationalize so much. I love the photos. You have a great family.

I'm happy to move on to tamales and forget the birds! I did enjoy the ham. Ha.

I decided on Cornish hens and wild rice again this year. That's about the only bird I eat anymore :-) Love the photo reenactment! I also like the first photo with the dog and the tuckered-out GB, and yer Mama seems a happy camper :-)

We did a few tamales on Wed night. Plus I made enchiladas. Jesse makes a jalapeno/cranberry salsa that is pretty darn good.

I think the Cornish hens would be good, if there were not so many of us. And yes, Mom is a happier camper these days. That is something to be thankful for.

I’m impressed, I have to say. Really hardly ever do I encounter a blog that’s both educative and entertaining, and let me inform you. you might have hit the nail on the head. Your idea is outstanding; the problem is something that not sufficient people are speaking intelligently about. I am very joyful that I stumbled across this in my seek for something referring to this.
