Simply Art

None of my art girls showed up yesterday. Although I find that irritating, it was kind of good yesterday, since I was still recovering from the weekend. It gave me a chance to do some painting on my own. I had pinned some art work on Pinterest that I wanted to try. So, I painted three little cards. They were pretty simple and easy. I may still do some touch-up on them. They need a little brightening.  It was good brush-time.

Just a comment on the first one. I really like this. It's not over-cooked, as they say.

It evokes a memory of my youth when I was stationed in Europe. The little villages all had (functional) shutters on the homes, and as the sun got hot, suddenly all the windows would be shuttered, and the daughters would come out under the shade tree, drinking pressed fruits in frilly dresses.

My German skills would amuse them for only one glass, before their mother would sick the Drahthaar's on me, and I'd have to peddle off spiritedly to the next glass.

That seems a good memory. I loved the shutters on the homes in Italy. My Italian was laughable.

These are great. At least you didn't have to meet them someplace else! You did have good painting time. I love windows and doors and I like the simplicity of the bottom flower.

Teaching art here at the house is good in lots of ways. I like the bottom flower too. The color in the other flower was fun.

Yes, that background is cool. I should work more with watercolors, so good for sketching and traveling. Sigh....
